I have millions of stories of my brother to share but this one sticks out the most because it exemplifies what a magnificently kind, thoughtful, and generous person Jason was. It was the last few months of my freshman year of college and I received a letter in the mail from my brother. The letter contained a check for $100 and a brief note that said, “I remember the last few months of freshman year so here’s a few extra bucks to get you through.” There was no precedent to send this to me. I did not tell him I needed the money (even though he was spot on). He never mentioned that he was going to send me anything. He just took the time to make an incredibly thoughtful gesture. He was always looking out for his family in everything he did.
